Bio & Exhibitions of Pierre Chamberland

Bio

Visual artist Pierre Chamberland earned a teaching certificate from the Université de Sherbrooke, the city in which he spent his childhood. Pierre was a member of the teaching staff at the P.-G. Ostiguy high school in Saint-Césaire from 1969 to 2002 and taught visual arts. During this time, he also obtained two certificates from the Université de Montréal, for Animation de la Vie Étudiante in 1984 and for Créativité: Fondements et Techniques in 1987.

He exhibited at the Salon des Métiers d’Arts, an arts and craft show, in Montreal in December 1979, where he presented works that integrated collage into lampshades made of tissue paper. From 1984 to 1993 he also designed and painted the sets for ten theatre productions of the Club Richelieu at Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.

Since 2002 he has worked with digital photography and photomontage, and he continues to explore the visual effects of inserting painted elements into printed works.
