APPLYING A COAT OF RESIN TO PROTECT YOUR VISUAL WORK
1- Test on a small work before workinga bigger piece.
Resin will become part of your work and can’t be removed.
Work in a well ventilated and dry area.
2- Measure exactly one part of resin to one part of hardener for your work.
3- Mix everything in a glass or plastic container (onethat you can throw away afterwards) with a small piece of wood or an old spoon. Mix for at least 3 to 5 minutes. Pour the mix on your work.
Use a metal spatula to evenout the mixture on thesurface on your work, goingall the way to the borders of the surface.
4- Taking no more than 10 minutes , make sure that the entire surface iscovered. Use a needle to get rid of any bubbles that may rise to the surface.
5- Let dry for at least 24 hours, making sure that the area is clean of dust and animal hair.
6- Use paint thinner for cleaning your spatula and your hands. Your work can be cleaned with a soft cloth and a bit of water in the future. Do not use abrasive products.
7- Collages of different papers and photographs must be mounted on a board and covered by a coat of a mixture of 4 parts of white glue and 1 part of water. Let dry for 24 hours before applying the resin on top of the surface. This procedurewill prevent the colors to bleed on one another.
